JAMMU, Feb 23: The Nirwan Divas of Jeevan Sahib a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety here.
Large number of devotees of the saint drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the Durga Nag Trust, Community Hall at Anuradha Puram, Barnai where a Maha Yagya was solemnized on the occasion by the devotees.
The Bajan – Kirtan and lectures on the spiritual life of Jeevan Sahib by some scholars were the highlights of the celebration. A Samohik Aarti was also held and the devotees were served with prashad after Puranahuti.
The speakers said Jeevan Sahib was a mystic saint of Kashmir who formed the part of hundreds years of Saint Parampara of Valley and who had great followers. They said he had performed many miracles during his life time and has also spelled a doom for the tyrant rulers of the Valley who were cruel to the people during those days.
They said the need of the hour is to carry forward the teachings of this great saint which are more relevant today. The devotees also complimented the Trustees of Durga Nag Trust for their cooperation in organizing this religious function.
