Nirmal Singh lays foundation, inaugurates road projects in Billawar

KATHUA, June 5: During the final leg of his three-day extensive tour of Billawar, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nirmal Singh today laid the foundation for construction of the road from Chadwal to Magloor via Moori.
The total length of road up to Magloor is 12 Kms out of which a stretch of 7 Kms length shall be taken up in the first phase.
The proposed road shall connect Mata Chintpurni, Mouri, Kore Kasba, and Magloor villages besides other adjacent areas and will benefit more than 30000 souls.  The Speaker said that the road will be constructed as per the double lane specifications and will serve as a lifeline for Kandi area.
The road was approved under CRF at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore to be executed by PWD (R&B).
The Speaker also inaugurated premix work on Sprain link road, the work of which has been completed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh.
He also said that 21 roads under PMGSY worth Rs.104 crore were sanctioned for Billawar constituency and the work on Dayalachak to Challain road will begin soon as per the set specifications.
To augment PDD infrastructure, the Speaker said that works worth Rs. 66 crore were sanctioned for Kathua district in which electric poles, wires and transformers will be provided to uncovered areas, besides strengthening existing PDD infra.
Later, the Speaker listened to the grievances of people at Sprain and Kore Kasba. At both the places people demanded hand pumps, clearing MGNREGA liabilities, augmenting lanes, drains, PHE, PDD infra, protection bund at Tarnah Nallaha and strengthening educational infrastructure.
Dr. Singh gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the people and said that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed on priority.
MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj, DC Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, ACD, SDM Hiranagar, CEO, Engineers, BDO and other district officers accompanied the Speaker.
