DODA, Sept 26: Nine passengers got injured when a bus, they were traveling in, collided with hill at Malhori, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Khelani in district Doda, this afternoon.
The ill-fated bus met with accident at Malhori near Khelani in district Doda due to the negligence of the driver.
The driver of over-speeding bus lost control over the steering resulting into the accident and causing grievous injuries to nine passengers.
On getting information, a police party headed by SP Doda, rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured passengers were immediately rushed to District Hospital in police and other vehicles.
The driver of the bus Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohd of Mandi, Poonch, has been arrested by the Police and case under negligent driving has been registered against him at Police Station Khelani.
The injured passengers were identified as Surinder Singh, son of Diwan Chand and his son Arjun Singh of Chakara Bijararani, Mohd Hanif, son of Mohd Ishaq, Saleema Begum, wife of Mohd Hanif, both residents of Dhara, Tirth Ram, son of Sadhu Ram of Kulnand, Kulshma Begum, wife of Late Ghulam Hussain of Bhart, Manju Devi, daughter of Balwant Singh of Kadal and Sadya Begum, wife of Gulshan Lone of Gurmal.
