JAMMU, Oct 9: Nine more cases of Dengue were reported today taking the total number of patients suffering from the vector-borne disease in Jammu region to 66.
“Nine persons including six males and three females were today tested positive for Dengue virus, out of which four each belong to Jammu and Kathua districts and one belongs to Reasi district,” Director Health Services (Jammu), Dr BS Pathania said.
He said out of the nine affected persons, seven are adults and two are children. “Majority of the patients affected with the disease who were admitted to various hospitals have been discharged after successful treatment,” he added.
Dr Pathania advised the people not to store water in open utensils and allow stagnation of water in their surroundings, as stagnant water is a breeding ground for Dengue mosquitoes. He also advised the people to prevent themselves from mosquito bites.
