JAMMU, Nov 2: Nine more dengue cases were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 433.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 2704 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 433 cases have been found positive and reports of 2142 have been found negative while result of 129 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 433 dengue cases, maximum 334 have been reported in Jammu district followed by 40 in Kathua, 28 in Samba, 10 in Udhampur, seven in Rajouri, six in Doda, three in Poonch, two in Reasi and one each in Ramban and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 433 dengue patients, 307 were adults (202 males and 105 females) and 126 were children (76 males and 50 females).
“So far dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
