Nickel, zinc strengthen on global cues

NEW DELHI, Apr 23:  Nickel and zinc prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous base metals market today on increased buying by stockists in line with a firming global trend.
Traders said sentiments remained firm after nickel advanced to a 14-month high in global markets on concern that the collapse of an accord to ease tension between Ukraine and Russia may lead to disruptions in global supply amid Indonesia’s unprocessed ore export ban.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months rose 1.1 per cent to USD 18,525 a tonne, the highest level since February 2013 on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, nickel (4×4) and zinc ingot advanced by Rs 2 each to Rs 1,072-1,073 and Rs 119-125 per kg, respectively.

Zinc ingot 119-125, nickel plate (4×4) 1,072-1,073 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 432, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 126, lead imported 124, aluminium ingots 148,Aluminium sheet cutting 149, aluminium wire scrap 151 and aluminium utensils scrap 148. (PTI)
