Nickel futures weaken on muted spot demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 6: Nickel fell 2.13 per cent to Rs 863.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets amid muted demand in the domestic spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in March contracts was trading down by Rs 18.80, or 2.13 per cent, at Rs 863.80 per kg in a business turnover of 47 lots.
The metal for delivery this month was also down by Rs 18.10, or 2.06 per cent, to trade at Rs 859.70 per kg in a turnover of 2,488 lots.
Analysts said that the fall in nickel prices was mostly in line with a weakening trend in metals at the domestic spot markets amid profit-booking by speculators. (PTI)
