NEW DELHI : An NIA team is likely to visit Pakistan to review the ongoing investigation in the Pathankot airbase terror attack case.
Sources in the Ministry of External Affairs Ministry today confirmed that the team could visit Pakistan.
“We are ascertaining Pakistan’s response. Details will be worked out subsequently,” said the sources.
A Joint Investigating Team from Pakistan had visited India, during which the Pakistani side expressed willingness to welcome a team from the NIA based on the mutually agreed reciprocity.
Later, Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit had said that no such reciprocity was agreed upon during the Foreign Secretary level meeting last month.
“During the meeting of our Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar with Pakistan Foreign Secretary last month, India had pointed out the need to review progress in Pathankot investigation,” sources said. (AGENCIES)
