NHPC launches campaign

JAMMU, Apr 5: A two weeks  “Swachh Bharat Drive” was launched by NHPC Regional Office, Jammu from March 14 to  April 2, 2016, to realize the dream of Prime Minister for a neat and clean India in which all NHPC officers and employees participated overwhelmingly in the campaign along with the local populace.
The campaign commenced with displaying of banners at prominent places of Jammu depicting importance of cleanliness. Pledge was administered by S Kalgaonkar, Executive Director to all the employees to carry out the cleanliness drive and contribute voluntarily towards cleaning of their residential areas, neighbourhood and social network premises so as to provide 100 hours of voluntary contribution during the year. Executive Director along with all officers and employees started the campaign by cleaning the approach roads and areas near NHPC office complex. An appeal was also circulated through posters to enlighten the people about cleanliness.
Various activities like spraying of pesticides and fogging of lanes and drains in Narwal area, distribution of dust bins to Railway Administration, Jammu, Government Schools at Qasim Nagar, Bazar Qasaban and Bagh-e-Bahu (a renowned park in Jammu), organising painting competition for school children, and slogan competition for employees to spread the message of Swachh Bharat  among the masses.
Prizes were distributed by S Kalgaonkar, Executive Director to the winners of various competitions.
