JAMMU, Sept 14: NHPC has been awarded first prize by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for the year 2014-15 under a new award scheme “Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar” for outstanding work in implementation of Rajbhasha amongst Public Sector Undertakings located in Region ‘A’.
This is the highest award given by the Government of India in the field of implementation of official language.
The award was received from President of India, Pranab Mukherjee by RST Sai, CMD, NHPC during award ceremony held at New Delhi today.
Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs were also present on the occasion.
Before this, NHPC has received first prize for outstanding implementation of official language amongst Public Sector Undertakings for the year 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12 and second prize for the year 2010-11 and 2012-13 under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield.
Along with the development and generation of hydropower, NHPC has also made remarkable progress in the field of Rajbhasha Hindi. Keeping in view the commendable achievements of NHPC in implementation of Rajbhasha, it has been conferred with several Rajbhasha awards at national level.
