NHM employees observe pen-down strike over long pending issues

JAMMU, Mar 16: NHM Employees Association today observed a one-hour pen-down strike across Jammu & Kashmir to press for the immediate redressal of long pending issues of employees working under the National Health Mission.

Employees across various districts assembled at their respective health institutions wearing black bands and holding placards, registering a peaceful protest to highlight their genuine demands and draw the attention of the Government towards their grievances.

During the protest, NHM employees raised several key demands including immediate release of pending salaries, regularization of their services, job security, social security benefits, implementation of a fair and transparent transfer policy, salary revision, timely salary disbursement and equal pay for equal work.

Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Seth, president NHMEA J&K, stated that NHM employees have been working tirelessly for strengthening healthcare services and deserve justice, dignity and security in their service.

Dr Nazir, general secretary NHMEA J&K, urged the Government to take immediate steps to resolve the long pending issues faced by NHM employees.

The Association reiterated that NHM employees have been the backbone of healthcare services in J&K, playing a crucial role in strengthening the public health system, and their long pending issues must be addressed without further delay.

The NHM Employees Association expressed hope that the Government will soon take positive steps to resolve the legitimate demands of NHM employees.
