NGO starts Vocational Training Centre for women

KATHUA, Aug 7: Dr. Ambedker Educational & Charitable Trust, Kathua- a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) today started a Vocational Training Centre for women at Sounthal village near here.
The Chief Executive Officer, Integrated Watershed Management Programme, (IWMP) J&K, Dr. Bharat Bhushan inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre in the presence of Trust office bearers, PRIs and trainees.
The Chairman of the Trust, Suresh Kumar said that Vocational Training Centre will impart training to rural women and girls in cutting, tailoring and hand embroidery.
Mohan Lal, Director of the Trust apprised that last week a free coaching centre was started by the Trust in Ward No 6, Kathua to help prepare students for academics and professional courses. He said that the Trust has planned to expand its activities.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan,CEO, IWMP appreciated the efforts of the Trust in reaching out to the needy students and rural women. The training of rural women and girls will make than Atam Nirbhar.
Neelam Devi, Sarpanch Sounthal Panchayat, Angreez Chand, former Sarpanch of Sunthal Panchayat, Jagdish Lal, Arjun Kumar and Sudhir Pathania-social activist were also present on the occasion.
