NGO distributes free books, stationery items among needy students

JAMMU, May 6 : In order to distribute free books, bags, stationery items and chocolates among the poor and needy children, a function organised by NGO ‘Healthy India Stronger India’ (HISI) was held here today.
On the occasion, Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman of HISI motivated the children to study hard to be successful in life and encouraged the youth to learn skills and get good qualification so that they earn well and raise the morale of their family by earning respectable income.
He quoted examples of children who dwelled in slums, but by virtue of their hard work and sheer dedication, have cleared IAS examinations recently.
“There is no substitute for hard work,” he added.
Healthy India, Stronger India is an NGO, established exclusively for charity. Its office is located at Raghunathpura, Jammu.
The NGO is running a ‘Free Training Centre’ for skill development of needy and poor children from BPL families. The training centre offers 3 months, free courses in Basic Computers; Cutting & Tailoring Classes; Beautician Course as well as Free Library for the students.
Nearly 500 students have passed out after successful completion of courses from this centre.
Among others who were present during the function included Jagdish Singh, Priya Chauhan, Chetan Chouhan, Kamaljeet Kour, Dalbir Singh and Raj Kumar Sharma.
