JAMMU, May 18: Sainik School Nagrota Ex-Students’s Association (NEXAS) will organize a candle light vigil at Balidan Stambh on May 20 to pay tributes to Martyr Lt Umar Fayaz.
This was announced by RS Billawaria, chairman, NEXAS, while addressing a press conference here today. He said that the candle light vigil shall be conducted at Balidan Stambh from 6 pm onwards, in which students, professionals, representatives of the civil society shall join NEXAS.
Billawaria said that NEXAS intend to reach out to the family of Lt Umar Fayaz in this time of grief and also to sensitize the civil society to the sacrifice of this brave officer, who succumbed to sheer cowardice of the militants.
He said that NEXAS also condemned the inhuman and dastardly act of mutilating and beheading of BSF Head Constable, Prem Nagar and Army Jawan, Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh.
The NEXAS chairman said that Martyr Lt Umar Fayaz, who was commissioned in 2nd Rajputana Rifles as a young officer has emerged as role model for the Kashmiri youth and his cold blooded murder would continue to shame and humiliate the militants, who try to gain high moral ground in justifying their dastardly acts.
Billawaria appealed the civil society members to come forward in large numbers to express solidarity and pay homage to our brave martyrs, who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
