JAMMU, July 20: A newly wedded woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Lower Roop Nagar area of city outskirts.
“The deceased woman namely Sonia (21) wife of Deepak Singh, resident of Akalpur, had come to her parents’ house at Suryavanshi Nagar in Lower Roop Nagar area to spend the month of ‘Savaan’ as she got married just 6-7 months ago,” police sources said.
They said the woman was found hanging this evening by her parents and they informed the Chinore police which reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police post Chinore.
