UDHAMPUR, July 20: Police patrolling party of PS Chenani today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Sudhmahadev-Chenani link road and rescued seven numbers of cattle, which were being smuggled in Tata Mobile vehicle.
The Tata Mobile vehicles, bearing registration number JK20A 8235, was intercepted by the Police party during naka even as driver managed to escape from the spot. During search, seven bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle without any valid permission.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the driver’s associate, identified as Aijaz Ahmed son of Ghulam Mustafa of Baramulla. The vehicle was also seized and a case under relevant section of law has been registered in this connection at PS Chenani.
