JAMMU, Sept 21: Demanding their exclusion from SRO 202, newly selected 10+2 Lecturers today held a strong protest demonstration at Dogra Chowk Jammu.
The protesting Lecturers raised slogans in support of their demand and announced to continue the struggle till the Government excludes them from the discriminatory SRO, which permits them to be entitled to minimum of pay scale along with grade pay during the first five years of probation period.
On the other hand, the candidates selected by JKPSC for other gazetted posts are not falling under this notorious new recruitment policy, they added.
The protesting Lecturers explained that the selected candidates for all the gazetted posts, have undergone the same selection procedure but a disparity has been made in appointment rules for Lectures 10+2 school only.
“Thus it clearly seems that the parameters of justice have been violated while categorizing the various gazetted posts for implementation of said SRO, hence adopting pick and choose method which affects only Lecturer of School Education Department,” they said.
Pertinent to mention that the agitating 10+2 Lecturers had also met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti seeking non-implementation of Rule 8 and 9 of SRO-202 on them.
The aggrieved Lecturers said that low salary under SRO-202 is paying upon the mental stability of the candidates who are serving in hard zones and with such a mental set up it would be impossible for them to give their best.
“Therefore, the salary of the newly appointed Lecturers should be at par with the other gazetted officers and also the five year service in the zone 3 is a complete injustice to the qualifications of the candidates and their families,” they said while justifying their demand.
