SRINAGAR, Oct 18: The newly promoted lecturers in the Education Department are awaiting posting from the last three months, leaving dozens of higher secondary schools without teachers.
About 80 teachers were promoted in July this year wide Government Order No. 539-Edu of 2014 by the Education Department after they achieved their promotion date.
“We are roaming from one chamber to another in the directorate since July, but we are not being posted yet,” the aggrieved lecturers said.
The Government had asked these teachers in the order that they should report to the concerned directorate within 21 days for further posting and adjustment. “Despite the Government’s own order, they have not implemented it,” they said.
Director School Education Mir Tariq Ali told Excelsior that the Government had banned the transfers, postings and adjustments till elections.
“Now the ban has been lifted few days before, we will post these lecturers within few days, before code of conduct comes in place,” he said.
