KATHUA, May 2: JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir has lashed out at PDP-BJP coalition for its anti- youth policies and said that the proposed recruitment policy will be against the interests of the educated unemployed youth of the State.
Addressing a workers convention of district Kathua, Mr Mir said that move of the State Government regarding the adhoc recruitment policy would open flood gates for favourtism, corruption and uncertainty amongst the youth besides eroding the autonomous institutions like Public Service Commission. He said that instead of further strengthening recruitment institutions, Government is trying to bye-pass these institutions to create scope for favourtism, nepotism and corruption on the cost of meritorious deserving youth. He said that despite opposition by the educated youth and others, the Government went ahead with ill- advised policies.
Mir said that the coalition of the two parties is the marriage of convenience for sake of power and both the parties have betrayed their electorates on their ideologies and issues on which they fought election. He said that BJP exploited various emotional issues in Jammu region, especially Article 370, citizenship of West Pak refugees, reservation of seats for PoK refugees, issues of border residents and assurance to have chief minister of Jammu region and more particularly to prevent PDP from coming to power. He said that PDP sought votes from Kashmir to keep BJP out from power, besides its agenda of self-rule and other such issues which were totally oppose BJP ideology.
He questioned the meeting point of two ideologically and fundamentally opposite forces and described the present coalition as a unique combination of opportunists and power hungry forces. He said that for the last two months the present coalition has created numerous controversies and vitiated the atmosphere in the State because of their wrong policies and inherent contradictions. He said that two parties openly admit their ideological and other differences in all important issues but still want to stick to power.
Sham Lal Sharma former minister criticized BJP for total surrender and accused its ministers as being the ‘Yes Masters’ in the Coalition Government. He said that BJP sold the interests of Jammu region for the sake of getting few ministries in the Government. He said that BJP announced AIIMS for Jammu and later tried to mislead the people on the issue. But now the entire episode is exposed the double standards of BJP leaders, who always claimed to be champion of Jammu region are now shedding their crocodile tears on the issue. He also opposed recruitment policy of the present Govt and termed it against the interests of youth.
CLP leader Rigzin Jora, senior leader Kanta Bhan also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Subash Gupta District president Kathua, in his welcome address referred to the various difficulties of people of different areas of Kathua district especially the farmers and border residents. He said that farmers are facing great hardships as their crops have been totally destroyed in recent unseasonal rains, the plight of border residents who have become victims of militant attack and cross border firing, are living in a atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.
The convention was organized by DCC Kathua. Prominent among others present on the occasion included ex-minister Manohar Lal Sharma, Rajnesh Sharma, Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Babu Singh, Balbir Singh, Indu Pawar, Pranav Shagotra, Anuradha Andotra, Pawan Raina, Pankaj Dogra, Manjit Singh Jatt, Naresh Sharma, Jagdish Sapolia, Manohar Singh, Jagdish Dogra, Nirdosh Sharma, Sardar Khan, Sohan Lal, Dr Narinder Vaid and Pankaj Basotra.
