UDHAMPUR, May 2: Saying that students are the architects of Nation and their grooming should be in such a manner so that they could compete and excel at all forums with confidence, Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Gupta asserted that teachers should infuse sense of responsibility among the students.
The Minister was speaking at a prize distribution function of General Knowledge competition organized by Lala Shiv Charan Youth Club Udhampur in the premises of Higher Secondary School, Boys Udhampur here today.
As many as 350 students of eight schools of the town participated in the contest.
Akshita Mahajan of Bhramrishi Shanti Vidya Peeth secured first position while Aman Puneet of Dehli Public School and Sonali Mahajan of Army Public School bagged second and third positions respectively. The Minister distributed prizes and certificates of merit among the commendable participants during the programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Minister appreciated the efforts of the Club for holding such an encouraging programme. He said that such events provide an opportunity to the budding students and encouraged them to achieve greater excellence in each field. Gupta suggested that such events should be organized regularly to improve and expose the talent of the students.
A scintillating cultural bonanza was also presented by the Dhoom Academy of Dance Udhampur during the progamme.
Among others, Chief Education Officer, Bishan Singh, Principal of GHSS, Boys, Sunil Sharma, Chairman, Vice Chairman & members of Lala Shiv Charan Youth Club, Parents, staff and students of various schools were present on the occasion.
