JAMMU, Apr 3: The new Managing Committee of Jammu Club has been elected for the term 2016-18 as elections for the same were held today.
The elected members include; Neeraj Puri, Er Manjeet Kotwal, Rajesh Gupta,, Manish Gupta, Dr Bhupinder Singh Pathania, Sidharth Samnotra, Sanjay Kakkar, Dr Nira Singh, CA Rajeev Gupta, Er Kangan Bhagotra and Er Anil Verma.
Among these, Neeraj Puri secured highest 1868 votes. He was followed by Er Manjeet Kotwal and Rajesh Gupta with 1851 and 1838 votes, respectively.
Manish Gupta secured 1824 votes, Dr Bhupinder Singh -1753 votes, Sidharth Samnotra-1752 votes, Sanjay Kakkar-1704 votes, Dr Nira Singh-1685 votes, CA Rajeev Gupta-1682 votes, Er Kangan Bhagota-1663 votes and Er Anil Verma-1596 votes.
There were total 14 candidates in the fray.
The results were declared by B D Sharma (Retd IAS), who was the Returning Officer and conducted the elections. Vinod Gupta and Er Shehnaz Goni acted as Election Advisors.
Initially there were 20 contestants, who had filed the nomination forms. However, six of them withdrew and finally there were only 14 contestants left in the fray.
