JAMMU, May 20: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar today in two separate meetings reviewed the functioning of Education Department and progress of various projects executed by JKPCC in Doda district.
Chairing the first meeting of ZEOs, Principals, Headmasters and Lecturers in the DC complex Doda, Kumar in detail reviewed the Mid-Day Meals Scheme, civil works, staff position, toilet facilities and Staff rationalizing in the schools. Stressing on the proper maintenance of teachers time table to ensure the punctuality and performance of teachers, he directed the Chief Education Officer Doda to rationalize the postings of the teachers especially in the rural areas besides strictly monitor the punctuality of the teachers in the schools.
He also directed the CEO Doda to take strict action against the non-serious teachers. Expressing concern over the unclean toilets in certain schools of the district, Kumar directed the CEO to ensure that proper hygiene is maintained in and around School premises. He took serious view over the unspent newspaper funds in certain schools and asked the concerned Principals to submit the proposal for incurring the expenditure in the priority areas.
Accommodation problem in certain Schools, Staff Shortage, delay in the construction of certain School building among other issues were also raised in the meeting which were redressed by giving directions to the concerned.
In another meeting with the authorities of JKPCC, the DC Doda reviewed progress of various ongoing projects executed by it. Mr. Kumar was informed that ten major projects which include 5 under NRHM and 5 under NABARD are under execution in the district. The projects include New District Hospital Doda with an estimated cost of Rs 3249.80 lakh to be completed in December 2015, construction of SDH Bhaderwah with an estimated cost of Rs 2465 lakh to be completed in September 2015, Trauma Hospital Khellani, PHC Bhella, PHC Bharat, PHC Gundna, Shiva-Dal Bridge, Kulsari Bridge among others.
On the ongoing work at District Hospital Doda, DC Doda asked the CMO Doda and X-En-JKPCC Doda to galvanize their efforts and prioritize the works so that the important work is executed first. He also directed the X-En-JKPCC and EO Municipality Bhaderwah to finalise the handover take over process of community Hall Bhaderwah within three days. Directions were also conveyed to X-En-JKPCC to prepare the DPR for the balance amount of mini secretariat Doda.
Besides the progress of work at GDC Bhaderwah, GDC Khilotran, Slaughter House Bhaderwah, Jawahar Novadaya Vidyalaya Doda, Sports Stadium Doda and Court Complex Doda were also reviewed and necessary instructions were conveyed to all the Quarters. To assess the progress of Fruit Mandi at Doda, in the meeting it was decided to inspect the venue of the proposed Fruit Mandi at Paryote today itself.
