New-born whisked away from DH Handwara, 2 held

Handwara, July 10: A new-born was today whisked away from District Hospital Handwara by two women who were later arrested and the infant was recovered by the local police.
Reports reaching here stated that a pregnant woman delivered a baby during early morning hours on Friday at the District Hospital Handwara who was later whisked away by someone.
The family subsequently brought the incident into the notice of hospital authorities, who informed the police about it and accordingly a manhunt was launched to nab the criminals.
The police were successful in recovering the new-born and later also lodged a case under relevant sections of law. Two women in this regard have also been arrested.
Both the women have been lodged in Police Station Handwara.
