Netflix drops Meghan Markle’s animated series

Los Angeles, May 2: Netflix has cancelled Meghan Markle created animated series ‘Pearl’, the latest in its cost-saving measures.
Markle was the executive producer of ‘Pearl’, which was announced last year. The series was to be on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who has been inspired from influential women from history.
The latest decision by Netflix has come after it revealed last month of a sharp fall in the number of subscribers and also warned that million more are set to quit the subscription.
That wiped over $50bn off the company’s market value as experts warned it faced a struggle to get back on track, BBC reported.
Besides ‘Pearl’, Netflix has canceled two more animated children’s series ‘Dino Daycare’ and ‘Boons and Curses’.
However, it said that work with the Archewell Productions will continue on several projects such as ‘Heart of Invictus’.
