JAMMU, June 21: Neeraj Kundan, All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary and Co-Incharge Organization, today met with Devansh Yadav, CEO of Jammu Smart City, to address critical gaps in the existing electric bus (E-Bus) services in the Bishnah Assembly Constituency.
Kundan submitted a memorandum requesting the extension of E-Bus routes to cover major localities currently underserved and the extension of permits for select buses to enhance commuter convenience.
The memorandum highlights that while E-Bus services are operational in Bishnah, several key localities remain unconnected, leaving residents with limited access to sustainable public transportation. Kundan proposed specific routes to include these skipped areas, ensuring better connectivity for both rural and urban communities. Additionally, he urged the authorities to extend the operational permits of certain E-Buses to allow for longer service hours, accommodating the needs of daily commuters, students and workers.
“The current E-Bus network in Bishnah is a step forward, but it must reach every major locality to truly serve the public,” said Neeraj Kundan and added that extending routes and permits will make public transport more accessible and convenient, aligning with the vision for inclusive and sustainable development.
CEO Devansh Yadav received the memorandum positively, assuring a detailed review of the proposals. He commended Kundan’s efforts to improve public transportation and expressed optimism about collaborating to enhance the E-Bus network.
