JAMMU, Dec 30: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) celebrated its 27th “Foundation Day” by organizing a simple but impressive book release function, wherein former Minister Ajay Sadhotra was the chief guest.
Ex- Additional Secretary Academy of Art Culture and Languages Dr Om Goswami presided over the function. Surinder Sagar, eminent Journalist and Dogri writer was special guest and Raj Rishi Sharma, a famous writer, was special invitee on the occasion. Shambu Ram Payasa, author of the Dogri Jaatra Lekh Book “Sukhe Da Saah” also shared the dais.
Capt Lalit Sharma, Convener NDS, read a detail report on the 27 years of working of NDS . A detail paper was read by Kuldeep Dogra on the book of Shambu Ram Piasa, titled “Sukha Da Saah” – a travelogue (Safar Nama), which was released by dignitaries .
Ajay Sadhotra lauded the tireless efforts of NDS to promote Dogri Language. He said that Dogri has got constitutional recognition but now we have to recognise and establish Dogri Language in each and every household of Dogras. He said everyone has to come forward to propagate the cause of Dogri language.
Om Goswami, in his address, said that selfless and dedicated work ultimately pays and NDS should continue its endeavours with same pace and enthusiasm .
Om Vidyarathi appreciated the democratic approach of NDS and sincere efforts to take everyone on board for the cause of Dogri .
Raj Rishi Sharma, in his address, said that NDS should work in coordination with united approach for the cause of Dogri.
Surinder Sagar observed that there is need to focus on our villages where there is emerging trend among new generation to drift from Dogri and its culture .
Prof. Raj Kumar, Ex-HoD Hindi, Jammu University, said that there is dire need to make Dogri compulsary up to 8th class .
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President NDS, appealed all Dogras to encourage Mother Tongue Dogri among children .
Prof Anupama Sharma, Patron NDS, appealed all women folk of Duggar to speak Dogri with their children in their homes .She further said that words of the mother always matter.
