NDMK presents Hindi play ‘Sarabjeet calling’

JAMMU, Mar 22: Nav Durga Kala Manch (NDKM) staged a very sensitive stage play “Sarabjeet calling” at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Written by Aaditya and Neha and designed and directed by Aaditya Bhanu the play was supported by Projects Grant, Ministry of Culture, GOI.
The play, ‘Sarabjeet calling’ was based on the plight of prisoners languishing in Pakistani jails, highlighting the ordeal of the prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, who remained lodged for 22 years, with unknown fate hanging like sword of Damocles on him before being attacked by his jail inmate that left him dead.
The play showed the withering consciousness of the human being lodged in a jail awaiting justice for 22 long years, only to be killed later.
‘Sarabjeet calling’ sends the shiver down the spine of the audience as he interacts in hallucinations with his mother, children and dead father, all assuring him about his early return to his native land.
Ayodhya Gupta, president BJP, Jammu West, presided over as a chief guest. He congratulated the effort of the Aaditya Bhanu for choosing such kind of topics.
The Artists who  performed in the play included Anoop Goswami as Sarabjeet Singh, Ashish Bhat as Jailor, Sandeep Sharma as Lawyer, Mosami Thakyal as Sister, Avni Jain as Mother, Shivani Thakur as Reporter, Tatvagya Bhargav as little Sarabjeet and Devanshu Raina as Jallaad.
The Music was handled by Shazi Khan, while lights were designed and executed by Varun Sharma. Make up was done by Ritu Manhas, Costumes by Irfana Banoo and Set and  property by Devanshu Raina.
