JAMMU, June 16: Cadets hailing from remote areas of two J&K Girls Battalion visited Suchetgarh Border Outpost situated along India-Pakistan border in RS Pura Sector here on Sunday.
As per an army handout, the initiative by NCC Group Headquarters Jammu was aimed at instilling patriotism and provide experience to the cadets regarding the martial history of the region.
The cadets were exposed to the strategic significance of the border outpost and also witnessed the Beating Retreat Ceremony and drill at the outpost.
They got an insight into the daily operations and disciplined and synchronised drill performances from the personnel posted. The highlight of the visit was the Beating Retreat ceremony, a display of ceremonial grandeur and the lowering of the national flag.
Cadets hailing from remote areas were given a platform to broaden their horizons and understand the significance of border security, the handout said.
