RAJOURI Sept 19: Lashing out at PDP-BJP for communalizing and polarizing Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to divert attention from the failure of Government on all fronts, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today asserted that National Conference will defeat all attempts of RSSisation of the State.
“We are at crossroads of history wherein PDP has become flag-bearer of the BJP in RSSisation of Jammu and Kashmir and plunging it into communal frenzy”, the Provincial President said while leading a peace mission of senior party leaders to the trouble torn township.
He described the recent unfortunate incidents at Rajouri as part of the sinister mission of BJP to create disharmony between various communities and complimented the sagacious people of the border township for defeating PDP-BJP machinations by seeing through the game-plan and maintaining unity and amity. He said these incidents should not be viewed in isolation, as there seems to be a definite pattern to divert the attention from unabated and continued Kashmir disaster that has led to human sufferings of highest magnitude.
Rana said that circumstantial evidence and preliminary reports suggest definite involvement of dejected political forces in these incidents, who want to retain the power by creating mistrust among the people. This, he said, is a piquant scenario, which speaks volumes about the ruthlessness and extent the two coalition partners could go in pursuit and lust of power. “Peoples’ welfare and security is their last priority”, Rana said while lashing out the duo for plunging Jammu and Kashmir into a morass, exit from which appears to be rather difficult.
He sought adequate compensation for those who suffered at the hands of rampaging mobs.
He decried insensitivity of the Coalition Government vis-a-vis sensitivities of the people and referred to unheard of restrictions imposed on the auspicious festival, saying the hurt caused to all right thinking people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, irrespective of caste, creed and colour will take a long time to heal. Added to this huge insult is the brazenness with which the Government is justifying such acts, he regretted.
The Provincial President also expressed concern over the obtaining scenario in the State, especially in the wake or Uri terror attack, saying while internal disturbances seem to be unending; the external dimensions are all the more alarming. “History stands testimony to the fact that whenever hostilities between India and Pakistan touched the boiling point with border skirmishes becoming inevitable, the main brunt falls on the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
State vice-presidents Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Rattan Lal Gupta, Kashmira Singh and other leaders Rashpal Singh, Ajaz Jan and Babu Ram Paul also spoke on the occasion.
