JAMMU, June 15: Provincial president of JKNC for Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today assured the underprivileged communities including the Scheduled Castes (SC) that their rights and welfare will be prioritized under the party’s leadership.
In a passionate commitment to social justice and equality, the senior NC leader criticized the current administration for neglecting the rights of marginalized communities. Highlighting the present dispensation’s failure to ensure social justice, Gupta emphasized the NC’s dedication to creating a just and inclusive society.
He was addressing the Provincial working committee meeting of NC’s SC Wing at party office Jammu. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vijay Lochan, Chairman JKNC SC Wing while Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial president was the chief guest on the occasion.
Lochan informed the senior leadership that the present government has consistently failed to address the prejudice faced by the underprivileged sections. The SC community has been particularly overlooked, with little to no effort made to uplift their socio-economic conditions under the realms of the present regime.
Provincial president expressed concern over weaker sections not getting rights, rising unemployment and complete lack of avenues to ensure welfare of the underprivileged communities. He said that only NC has determination and will to ensure rights and justice to the weaker sections as there are umpteen such examples where NC leadership has taken daring steps to provide fair deal to the poor strata and deprived people with ‘land to tillers’ being the best step in this direction by party’s founder Late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
The poor state of affairs of SC Financial Corporation and SC BC Boards created by the NC regime is testimony to the fact that the present regime believes in rhetoric only as on ground things are dismal, he added.
Gupta said that the NC has pledged to implement comprehensive policies aimed at eradicating social disparities and ensuring equal opportunities for all. “The National Conference stands firmly with the SC community and all underprivileged sections of society. The party’s vision is to build a future where every individual, regardless of their social or economic background, has the opportunity to thrive,” he affirmed.
Senior leaders Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Jagjeevan Lal and Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat also spoke on the occasion.
Bimla Luthra former MLA, Pardeep Bali Provincial secretary, senior leaders Vijay Laxmi Datta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Rakesh Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
