JAMMU, Jan 29: Provincial President National Conference, Jammu province Devender Singh Rana said that National Conference and its workers will act as a bridge between the people and the Government and will isolate and expose the divisive forces which are power hungry and are hoodwinking the people for their petty political gains.
He said that National Conference cadre is the strength of the party and that the cadre will rise to the occasion and ensure that the message of the party and its leadership reaches each household in the State thereby strengthening the party’s base and prepare for the 2014 elections.
Rana, who was addressing a deputation of Bakarwals from across the province here today at party headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, said that National Conference leadership will visit each and every nook and corner of the province in the next one year.
He said inclusive development and welfare of all sections of the society is the benchmark of the National Conference and the State Government led by Omar Abdullah is taking keen interest in the development of weaker sections of the society.
Rana said certain parties are aberrations on the political scape of the State and will disappear from the same because they lack an ideological bond or political moorings.
He said such parties are an out crop of hunger for power and they always play with the emotions and the feelings of the people, hoodwink them for their short term gains which destroy the basic character of the polity in the long run.
He said the people of the State should identity and isolate these fringe elements and defeat their machinations which have always proved counterproductive to the welfare of the people of the State.
Rana said that Gujjar and Bakarwals are part and parcel of State’s rich heritage and culture and their welfare is being attended effectively and positively by the National Conference. He said National Conference has always worked for their comprehensive development and will continue to do so in future as well.
He said that for holistic development of various sections of society, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has constituted advisory boards and as their chairman he himself monitors and ascertains the progress of various schemes launched in the State for their welfare and development.
Rana called upon the community to come forward and take active part in developmental activities and make people aware of the historic initiatives taken by the Omar led Coalition Government for their upliftment.
Among others who addressed the deputation included Vice President Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Women Wing Vijay Lakshmi Dutta, Ch. Haroon, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad and others.
