NC SC/OBC Cell adopts resolution for retention of Article 35A

JAMMU, Aug 19: During one- day convention of National Conference Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes Cell at Sher-i-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu, here today, resolution for retention of Article 35A was unanimously adopted.
The convention, held under the chairmanship of former Minister and Chairman of the Cell, Babu Ram Paul, was attended by a large number of people from the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes community.
The resolution was moved, adopted and unanimously passed in support of the Article 35A to preserve the integrity, unity and diversity of the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir State.
While addressing the convention, Babu Ram Paul said that Article 35A is the vanguard of the Article 370 and hence cannot be abrogated at any cost. He said that the National Conference stands in support of the Article 370 and Article 35A to keep intact the identity of people of the State.
On the occasion, a threadbare discussion was also held regarding the upcoming elections to the Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). Babu Ram Paul asked the workers to gear up cadres for the same. He asked the workers, especially to the reserved communities to reach out to the people and aware them regarding the policies of the National Conference. He further asked the cadres to work day in and out for better outcome in the Panchayat and ULBs elections.
While addressing the convention, various speakers raised the issue of reservation in promotion which is sub-judice in the Apex Court due to the negligent approach of the previous PDP-BJP regime.
On the occasion some prominent citizens from other political parties joined the National Conference.
Others who spoke on the occasion, include Om Dalbotra, Master Prem Nath Bhagat, Sham Lal, Rajinder Chaniyal, Bharat Bhushan, S Darshan Singh, Ayub Malik, Sagar Chand Ex MLA, Ramesh Motton, Qazi Jalal-u-din, Charan Dass Dogra, Dr Y P Singh, Narinder Dutt, Mukhtyar Chand, Shakeel Toni, Ramesh Chander, Ravi Kumar, Harbans Lal Chandail, Bhadur Lal, Dr Tara Chand, Soma Devi, Sain Dass, Dr Sushil, Bhushan Lal, Karam Chand, Sat Paul Mandi, Thoru Ram and others.
