NC, others condemn terror attack on police party; pay tributes to martyrs

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, June 17:  Paying tributes to the police martyrs, who lost their lives in terrorist attack at Achabal in Anantnag yesterday, various political parties and other organizations have strongly condemned the terror attack.
Calling the attack on police party as alarming and grave, National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah said the attack was a clear indication of the deteriorating security scenario in the State. “My heart goes out to the families of the martyred policemen SHO Feroz Ahmed, Constables Sharik Ahmad, Tanveer Ahmad, Sheraz Ahmad, Asif Ahmad and Sabzar Ahmed. I pay my humble tribute to them for their bravery, courage and sacrifice and stand in solidarity with their families. Their sacrifices must not go in vain”, Farooq Abdullah said.
In his message, NC working president Omar Abdullah, while paying glowing tributes to the slain policemen, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in their moment of grief. “We all stand with the families of the slain policemen and our hearts go out to them. The brave sons of soil have offered the ultimate sacrifice for the State and their courage will be remembered for a long time to come”, Omar Abdullah said.
Dr Farooq and Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the unabated civilian killings in the Valley and extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families for their inconsolable loss.
Senior NC leaders, including Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Nasir Aslam Wani, Abdul Rahim Rather, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Akbar Lone, Sakina Ittoo, Shamima Firdous, Junaid Mattu and Party Legislators and office bearers have also paid glowing tributes to the slain policemen and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
Expressing grave concern over the deteriorating security situation in the Kashmir valley,
Pradesh Congress Committee has also strongly condemned the series of attacks on security forces causing casualties of precious lives.
Strongly condemning the attack on the police party,   JKPCC termed the increased attacks on forces including local police, as acts of cowardice and desperation by terrorists and lauded the bravery and commitment of the forces to the nation.
Calling for immediate strong and necessary measures to deal with the challenge of the terrorists and anti-national forces, a well devised strategy and other necessary measures should be taken to wean away the youth from such militant forces and to weaken their local support base, PCC said and added that the Central Government must understand the gravity of the situation and do everything necessary to bring the situation under control.
In a message, PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the Party’s rank and file have expressed deep sympathies with the families of the martyrs and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
To express anger on the killing of Policemen in militant attack, Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement, led an anti Pakistan protest demonstration on Janipur High Court road.
The protesting people raised slogans against Pakistan and also torched Pak flags, effigies of Nawaz Sharief, Pakistan and the separatist’s leaders.
Addressing the protesters,  Sunil Dimple coming down heavily on the Pakistan and appealed Prime Minister Narinder Modi to hand over the Jammu  Kashmir State to the Army besides declaring  emergency here after imposing Governor’s rule.
Dimple alleged that BJP-PDP Government was doing politics on the dead bodies  to save the chair and remain in power.
Former Minister and NCP State president Thakur Randhir Singh has  strongly   condemned the terrorist attack on  police party and said that killing of six policemen by terrorists in Achabal is a cowardice act. He also paid rich tributes to Naik Bakhtawar Singh who was martyred in Nowshera sector leaving behind three children including one month old son, eight years daughter and 14 years son .
Singh said all these bravehearts laid down their today for our tomorrow. Maintaining that terror and talks can’t go together, he praised the role of Army , security forces and J&K Police in fight against terrorism. He also asked the Government to provide compensation and jobs to the dependents of martyrs.
Anguished over the killing of six policemen in terrorist attack,  workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena,  under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta,  took out a protest in Jammu city against the Pakistan.
The protesters torched Pakistani  flag and raised slogans for a befitting reply to the enemy country as well as its agents on this side of the border.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Ashok Gupta said that surgical strikes were not  enough to stop Pakistan from carrying out such barbaric acts and India needs to repeat 1965 and 1971. “A war is the only way to stop Pakistan from carrying such condemnable act, by finishing Pakistan from the world map and for once in all stopping our innocent army men from dying,” he added.
Workers of Shiv Shakti Sena also held a protest demonstration against  Pakistan and torched an effigy of  Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif near Main Stop, Janipur. Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Gupta,  president of Shiv Shakti Sena paid tributes to brave soldiers and Policemen, who attained martyrdom in fight against terrorism.
