Srinagar, Apr 10: On one hand top leadership of the National Conference is castigating the National Investigating Agency by harassment of Huriyat Conference and other separatist leaders, the candidate for Baramulla constituency of National Conference, Akbar Lone, today praised the investigating agency.
Lone told reporters here that NIA is here to establish the truth. “The NIA is such an organization that is here to investigate and prove that truth is truth and falsehood is false”, he said.
The NC leader admitted that the party brought the NIA to the State but accused its arch rival Peoples Democratic Party of using it against separatist leaders. “We have brought it here, that is right but who used it. Our former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah used it once against a person in Lolab”, he said.
Omar said last week in Kupwara, the NIA filed an FIR against Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq in 2017 when Mehbooba Mufti was Chief Minister and so she (Mehbooba) alone is responsible for the notices NIA is sending to Mirwaiz and his questioning.
