SRINAGAR, Apr 4:
Union Minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah today said his party had a history of making sacrifices for people of J&K and is the sole guardian of the State’s identity and unity.
“NC has a history of rendering sacrifices for the people of this State and is the sole guardian of its identity, culture, diversity and unity,” he said, highlighting the importance of guarding the State’s culture and languages in these changing times.
Abdullah, the NC candidate from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, was interacting with various public delegations who called on him.
He said culture and language are the most vital assets of a nation that aspires greatness and glory. “The identity of a nation is its most valuable asset and people should take pride in their culture and mother tongue,” he said.
The NC chief said J&K had survived numerous conspiracies and ploys to dilute its unique constitutional status but his party would never allow proxies of communal parties to divide the people of the State for their short-term, electoral and political gains.
Abdullah said it was NC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah who prepared and presented a blue-print for the welfare and progress of the State. (AGENCIES)
