Srinagar, May 3: J&K Apni Party’s (JKAP) candidate for the Lok Sabha elections in the Srinagar constituency, Ashraf Mir, today stated that the National Conference (NC) has failed to deliver for the people of Ganderbal district.
Speaking to media persons after attending a public meeting in the Gutlibagh area, Mir expressed disappointment, highlighting that Dr. Farooq Abdullah, despite being a Member of Parliament, has never visited the area nor provided funds for developmental projects.
“People here are disheartened. They have witnessed little to no development. It’s regrettable that Dr. Farooq Abdullah, during his tenure as Member of Parliament, has not prioritized the development of this area,” he remarked.
Mir pointed out that despite Ganderbal residents’ unwavering support for the NC, they have received no significant returns.
He criticized Dr. Farooq for his lack of presence and initiative in ensuring the overall development of the district, particularly in Gutlibagh and surrounding areas.
Regarding the alliance with the J&K United Movement led by Ishfaq Jabar for the Lok Sabha elections in Srinagar constituency, Mir described it as a “joint mission” aimed at ensuring effective representation of people’s issues in the Parliament.
“This alliance with JKUM is a collective effort for a cause. We stand with Ishfaq and our success will mean effective representation and advocacy for the people,” he affirmed.
Mir emphasized that all pertinent issues affecting the people would be brought to the forefront in Parliament, with a particular focus on securing employment packages for Kashmir.
Earlier, during his address to the gathering, Mir characterized the Lok Sabha elections as a “fight for the sustenance and dignity of people,” underscoring the alliance’s commitment to working collaboratively for the betterment of the people.
