SRINAGAR, Mar 31: National Conference additional general secretary and MLA Hazratbal, Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal toured various areas of Hazratbal constituency today and asked his constituents to ensure a resounding victory for Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the NC-Congress Coalition Candidate from Srinagar Lok Sabha seat.
Speaking to various delegations at Hazratbal, Dr. Kamaal said that by bringing in the Right to Information (RTI) Act, the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA), holding Panchayat elections in the State and announcing the creation of new administrative units, Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress Government had brought in unprecedented transparency, decentralization of power and empowerment of the traditionally dis-empowered in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Kamaal said that there is no doubt left anymore about a tactical alliance between the PDP and Narendra Modi led BJP, given their recent overtures and attempts to warm up to Modi. PDP was brought into existence by the BJP at a time when the National Conference was pursuing the implementation of the Autonomy document of National Conference. To weaken the struggle for J&K’s Autonomy, BJP created and funded the PDP to fragment the voice and representation of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr. Kamaal further said that NC did not believe in shrill rhetoric and hollow slogans. We believe in guarding the special status of our State and have rendered innumerable sacrifices to protect Article 370 and will continue to do so in the future. What happened to PDP’s “healing touch” is a fact known to one and all.
