NC-Cong misleading people: Jugal

JAMMU, July 22: Terming as a joke the claim of the Congress and National Conference (NC) that they have ended their alliance, BJP State president and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that the opportunist leaders of these two parties are only misleading the people.
“They are very much in the coalition. The unpopular and corrupt Coalition Government is very much in place. It continues to play anti-people and anti-State games,” the BJP MP said, and added that if they really meant what they claimed, they should approach the State Governor for Governor’s rule in the State for the remaining period of nearly six months so that free and fair polls are held in the State and people get a genuinely democratic Government.
The NC and the Congress have no moral right to stay put in office after their declaration that both the parties would go to the upcoming Assembly election alone and field their candidates in all the 87 Assembly constituencies, Sharma said, adding that the people of the State are politically very mature and they understand what the NC and Congress leaders have been doing since 2008.
“The people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are politically very mature. They cannot be misled by the canny and opportunist NC and Congress leadership. They would teach these parties a lesson similar to the one they taught them in the just-held Lok Sabha election,” Sharma said, adding that it is time for the political parties like the Congress, the NC and the PDP to behave and work for strengthening democracy at the grassroots level. He also expressed the hope that process of the people joining the BJP in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh would gain more momentum in the coming days, as the people of the State have come to believe that the BJP alone could end unrest in the State, ensure its all-round development and hand down a government that delivers.
