NC assails PDP-BJP duo for plunging J&K into crisis

JAMMU, Sept 6: Stressing crucial need for maintaining communal amity and regional unity, National Conference today expressed anguish over continued sufferings of people in the Kashmir valley and called for meaningful dialogue with all segments of society for lasting peace in the state.
“The PDP-BJP coalition has miserably failed in governing the State, which is reflected in chaos all over”, District President Jammu Urban, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal said while addressing a meeting of the district unit at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning,
He said that disturbed conditions have taken toll of governance in all the three regions of the State and the problems confronted to the people have accumulated manifold. He made a particular mention of developmental and administrative inertia in the Jammu region, saying the people have suffered immensely during the ongoing monsoon season due to dilapidated condition of main and interior roads, irregular supply of power and drinking water besides scarcity of ration at the depots.
The meeting discussed and finalised the arrangements to observe death anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah on September 8. The main function will be  held  at the Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan which will begin with all religious prayers..
Paying tribute to Baba-e-Quom, the District President Urban said that Sher-e-Kashmir played a key role during most turbulent times in strengthening unity between Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians and Buddhists. “National Conference has nurtured this spirit of composite ethos and it is incumbent upon people of the State in general and the cadre in particular to maintain it at all costs”, he added.
Provincial President NC Women Wing, Satwant Kaur Dogra and former MLA Bimla Luthra also paid tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
