JAMMU, June 14: National Conference today decried deceptive politics of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), saying its anti- people policies and negative approach towards issues confronting the State has compounded people’s problems than solving these.
In a joint statement issued here today by party legislators and senior leaders  Abdul Gani Malik,  Javed Rana,  Aijaz Jan, Master Noor Hussain, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Rattan Lal Gupta, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Th Kashmir Singh, Brij Mohan Sharma and  Gurdeep Singh Sasan, said that the lust for power has made the PDP leadership so desperate that they have lost the sense of proportion in differentiating between right and the wrong.
“The party, foundations of which are based on deceit and falsehood, cannot think of a healthy and constructive political discourse for the overall good of the people and the State”, they said and advised the PDP leadership to shun the syndrome of telling and repeating lies huge enough and believing them too. “They must remember that truth is the biggest enemy of lie”, the NC leaders said, adding that the people are wise enough to see their real faces behind the veil of falsehood.
The National Conference leaders cautioned PDP leaders against hoodwinking public opinion by indulging in falsehood and asked them to come clear on their role in 2008 catastrophe besides hobnobbing with Bharatiya Janata Party to trample the constitutional safeguards to the state. “PDP got exposed in its hidden alliance and clandestine understanding with the BJP during the Legislative Council elections when it openly sought support for the proxy candidate to weaken National Conference”, they maintained.
The National Conference leaders referred to the recent public interactions of a PDP leader and MLC Yashpal Sharma wherein he said that if Mufti Sahib will come to power, he will convert J&K into Narendra Modi’s Gujarat. “J&K doesn’t need Gujarat”, they said and cautioned the people to beware of the Modi brand leaders who want to convert secular Jammu and Kashmir into a communal Gujarat.
They said that people have not forgotten how PDP President Mehbooba Mufti went out of way in praise of Narendra Modi in Legislative Assembly and eulogised his functioning.
The NC leaders said that PDP was hobnobbing with all those in New Delhi who they feel can save their sinking ship in Jammu and Kashmir in the ensuing elections. “They should not forget that power does not flow from Delhi but it emanates from the people”, they said.
