JAMMU, Oct 2: The nine day Navratra festival which concluded today witnessed various activities in all the temples across Jammu city like festivities at Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi and elsewhere in the country.
Mahakali Temple at famous Bahu Fort remained the centre of attraction for Jammuites as also the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi, who also thronged the Bawe-Wali Mata Mandir with full faith and reverence.
All the temples of Maa Durga were tastefully decorated for the festivals and during the penultimate days the devotees who kept fast during Navratras were seen making bee-lines outside the Bawe Wali Mata Mandir, waiting for their turn to pay obeisance to the Goddess.
Thought in the aftermath of havoc caused due to incessant rains and floods, the usual rush to the temples of Maa Durga was on a low key, yet the enthusiasm of the devotees was not dampened and they paid their obeisance and prayed for world peace and well being of one and all.
The devotees who had sown Kshetri (Saakh Mata) in their houses concluded the fast with Kanjak Pojan and immersion of Saahk Mata in Tawi river and other water bodies near to their respective residences.
