JAMMU, Mar 9: Principal Secretary to Governor, Navin Kumar Choudhary has been posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence.
Official sources told EXCELSIOR that Defence Minister, A K Antony has cleared the name of Navin, a 1994 batch IAS officer of J&K cadre and all the necessary clearances had been obtained from various Departments.
“The formal order for appointment of Mr Choudhary was issued on March 6 and he will have to join within 30 days as per the normal convention”, sources remarked.
Mr Choudhary had earlier functioned on several posts in the State including DC Baramulla, Vice-Chairman, Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and Special Secretary Tourism Department. While on deputation to New Delhi, he had handled important assignments like Deputy Secretary and then Director Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance and had also served as Advisor to Executive Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington.
