NAUP demands restoration of statehood to J&K

SRINAGAR, Feb 22: National Awami United Party (NAUP) has demanded early restoration of statehood to J&K.
In a press conference here today NAUP general secretary, Iltaf Sheikh urged upon the Central Government to not delay the decision on restoration of statehood to J&K.
“Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should look into the request of people and should fulfil his promise as early as possible,” he maintained, adding that J&K needs its identity back and Central Government should not delay this.
Sheikh told reporters that it’s high time that this demand of J&K people should be accepted and the long awaited statehood should be granted to J&K.
“Youth of J&K have lot of talent besides, J&K has rich resources. So, the Union Government must devise an area centric approach to harness these things in J&K for development,” he said.
NAUP leader also said that they will always champion the cause of common people and youth for benefiting the society.
On this occasion many political activists joined NAUP. They included Hilal Ahmed, Umar Mohammad, Gulam Mohd, Gulzar Ahmed Ganaie, Kazir Mohammad and others.
