Natrang’s 4th Theatre Festival commencing from Aug 20

JAMMU, Aug 17:  Natrang is going to organise 4th Theatre Festival of the year from  August 20, 2018 at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
Giving details Natrang director,  Balwant Thakur, flanked by Theatre’s other functionaries Anil Tickoo, Neeraj Kant, Rahul Singh  and Sanjeev Gupta  informed that in connection with the celebrations of 35 glorious years of Natrang, the organisation is going to organise  4- day theatre festival every month and 4th festival is starting from August 20, featuring four theatre productions by different directors of Natrang. The festival will open with Natrang’s most celebrated play ‘Mahabhoj’ written by Mannu Bhandari  on  August 20, 2018  from 6 pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
He disclosed that on August 21, 2018Gulzar’s ‘Kharaashein’  will be presented under the direction of Rahul Singh. On 3rd day of the festival on  August 22, Balwant Thakur’s highly acclaimed Children play ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai, will be showcased. The festival will conclude on  August 23rd, 2018 with the all-time super comedy play ‘Saiyan Bhaye Kotwal’ written by Vasant Sabnis and directed by Balwant Thakur.
Natrang has already successfully organised three festivals featuring four plays each. The first festival was organised  in May this year.  The second festival was organised from June 19 to 22,  2018.  The third theatre festival was organised from July 18 to 21, 2018.
Thakur further informed that Natrang was established on May 15, 1983 with the presentation of two unique short plays Neeli Jheel’ and ‘Nanhen Kandhey Pair’  at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Natrang through the selfless contribution of thousands of its associates, brought the J&K theatre to the National and International limelight and its highly acclaimed plays vibrated the theatre world and proudly travelled the whole length and breadth of the country and also crossed the boundaries of India as well and won appreciation in Russia, Germany, U.K, Singapore, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, and UAE.
