JAMMU, Aug 6: Natrang Jammu is going to start a massive theatre initiative aimed at taking theatre to the remotest areas of the State with highly socially relevant themes.
This was informed here today by Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur in a press briefing.
Giving details Balwant Thakur informed that from August 9, Natrang is starting a touring programme with three plays which will be staged in the remotest villages of Poonch district.
This unique effort of taking theatre to remote areas is locally supported by Krishna Ghati Brigade, Poonch.
The first such programme will open at village Gulpur in Poonch on August 9 in which three plays written and directed by Balwant Thakur will feature namely ‘Suno Eh Kahani’ (Dogri/Pahari) ‘Choona Hai Aasmaan’ (Hindustani) and ‘Iss Gran Gi Swarg Banai Lo’ (Dogri/Pahari). The second programme will be held at village Jhallas (Poonch) on August 10. On August 11, Natrang team will reach at Mankot. The last show of the series will be held on August 13 at Mendhar.
Balwant Thakur further informed that larger audiences are expected to come and witness these highly educative plays. District administration has also been requested to support this noble endeavour of Natrang.
