Natrang stages Dogri play ‘Aitvaar di Sair’

JAMMU, Aug 17: ‘Aitvaar di Sair’, a new play in Dogri written by Narendra Khajuria and directed by Neeraj Kant was presented here today by Natrang at its studio theatre during its Sunday theatre series.
The play presented before the audience the story of almost all middle class households of Jammu where Sunday being a special day musters special planning.
When the play opens, ‘Deewakar’ is shown sleeping tight as it is Sunday and he wants to spend maximum time sleeping because it is the only day of the week when he gets a chance to wake up a little late. But on the contrary, his wife, ‘Uma’ has a long list of things to do for him which were listed for Sunday and moreover a much pending picnic was the utmost priority for her as after doing tiring daily chores and hard savings, they get a chance for recreation just once in a month and this Sunday was that very day. Reluctantly, ‘Deewakar’ agrees to her demand and starts his day as per plan but he was not even ready when the unexpected and unwanted guests (Deewakar’s friends) arrive his home just to spend their Sunday. Though he tries hard to get rid of them but they had even harder skin. Eventually after so long, he succeeds in sending them out and they changed their plan of picnic as it was too late for that and decide to go for a movie. But, to their dismay, another guest arrives and this time it was not Deewakar’s friend, it was ‘Prema’ a close friend of ‘Uma’ who had come to meet her after long with a planning to spend the whole day with her. So this is how their plan of spending happy Sunday in a happy way was spoiled and they had to spend it as per the wish of their guests.
Natrang actors who performed in the play included Mohammad Yaseen as ‘Deewakar’, Sakshi Parkash as ‘Uma’, Mihikshit Singh Langeh as ‘Dukhiya Ji’, Pankaj Verma as ‘Master Ji’ and Juhi Singh as ‘Prema’. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma.
