JAMMU, Oct 10: Special show of Balwant Thakur’s highly acclaimed play ‘Aap Hamare Hai Kaun’ was staged here today by Natrang at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
The presentation of the play was supported by NHPC, ICICI Bank and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. Sangeeta Gupta, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, was the chief guest while Simrandeep Singh, District Development Commissioner, Jammu, presided over the function.
Giving details, writer and director of the play, Balwant Thakur, informed the audience that this play and its participating artists have done proud to Jammu by making it to the National Theatre Festival being held at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, where they perform this play on October 14, 2015.
Simrandeep Singh, while appreciating the unique acting histrionics of children and the powerful content of the play, strongly desired that such a kind of initiative of Natrang should reach to every child of this region. He assured all possible help to support such initiatives.
‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ shakes parents and educationists/guardians of society out of reverie of materialism, consumerism and unbridled desires. This play compels elders to look around and clear the mess they have created due to their own amorous ambitions and rat race.
Play deals with contemporary problems that younger generation is up against from their own loved ones and surroundings. Tall claims and big concerns of parents, relations, and educationists are being questioned by the younger generation…… Aap Hamare hain Kaun.
The children who participated in the play included Juhi Singh, Gopi Sharma, Sanchita Dubey, Sanyam Gupta, Shreya Gupta, Agam Kaur, Mihir Gujral, Manya Gujral, Sanya Gupta, Asma Gul, Ayn Bhola, Chander Pratap Singh Bhau, Chirag Anand, Sanvi Anand, Riya Jandial, Saba Jamwal, Shivangini Sharma, Divyan Sharma, Sahil Singh Anand, Vedhant Suri, Sanket Bhagat and Rudra Kohli.
The music of the play was composed by Suraj Singh and Rakesh Kona was on rhythm. The lights were designed by Suraj Ganjoo and executed by Ankush Lakhnotra.
