JAMMU July, 24: Natrang is starting its much awaited regular theatre programme for children “Natrang Children Weekend Club” from July 27.
This was informed here today by Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur in a press briefing at Natrang Studio Theatre. He said in the present day life, which is full of competition, children are required to be mentally alert and physically active, and this ‘Weekend Club’ would be a rejuvenating experience for children as it offers a wholesome training for body and mind through the most developed techniques of theatre and other artistic expressions.
The curriculum of this year-long programme full of diverse range of activities where children would be joining the Weekend Club on Saturdays and Sundays for the entire year, has been innovatively designed by Natrang Director, Balwant Thakur.
He disclosed that the Weekend Theatre would be conducted by Sumeet Sharma, a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s National award for youth in theatre direction, Neeraj Kant- a veteran theatre artist and Gauri Thakur, a young theatre actor in addition to many visiting faculty members including the alumnus of National School of Drama and Film and Television Institute of India. The workshop is being coordinated by Mohammed Yaseen and other experts of different art-fields like music, dance, painting will also be invited to interact with the participants of Children Weekend Club. Balwant Thakur further desired the people to avail the opportunity being provided by Natrang and requested to get their wards between the age of 7 to 15 registered in this unique Children Club. On the occasion, Balwant Thakur also listed few accomplishments of Natrang’s regular camp and briefed about the achievers who are the proud products of this Natrang’s training programme.
