National Wildlife Board cleared Mubarak Mandi ropeway project: Jora

JAMMU, Nov 12: The Government today approved release of 7 percent DA  in favour of the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) employees with effect from July 2012.
The decision in this regard was taken at 19th Board of Directors meeting of the Corporation held under the chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora here today.
While approving the release of DA installment in favour of the employees of the Corporation, the Tourism Minister, who is also chairman of J&K Cable Car Corporation said that the employees of the Corporation would now get DA at par with other Government employees.
Commissioner/Secretary, Tourism, Atul Duloo, Managing Director, JKCCC, Talat Parvez, Secretary JKCCC, Ajaz Ayaz were among other Board members attended the meeting.
He appreciated the efforts of the Corporation for raising higher revenues  from previous years and called upon the employees to work with more dedication and devotion for making the Corporation further vibrant and commercially strong. He said that other genuine demands of the employees would be also redressed in due course of time.
The Minister while hailing the efforts of Managing Director, JKCCC for achieving this fiscal targets of Rs 23 crore before 5 months, underscored the need for removing bottlenecks with concerned departments for early taking up of Cable Car Projects already identified and approved in tourism potential areas of the State.
The Minister disclosed that National Wild Life Board has given its nod for construction of Mubarak Mandi Cable Car Project. He said the project has already been allotted for construction and would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crore. He issued directions to Managing Director to get other matters solved with Revenue and Environment Department well in time so that project work is not delayed.
Mr. Jora also asked MD to ensure formulation of speedy DPRs and drawings for all related matters for construction of Shiv Khori Cable Car Project well in time.
Giving resume activities of the Corporation, the Managing Director apprised the meeting that for the first time the Corporation is running on a profit of Rs 3.50 crore. He informed that the current fiscal revenue target of Rs 23 crore has been achieved by the Corporation surpassings previous years targets. He assured that all efforts of the employees of the Corporation would be channelized to make the Corporation a vibrant commercial hub. He also gave physical and financial achievements of the under execution Cable Car Projects.
