JAMMU, Oct 4: The Jammu & Kashmir Taekkyon Association will host a National Taekkyon Competition on December 24–25, 2025, in Jammu. The event is being organized under the aegis of the India Taekkyon Federation and Korea Taekkyon Federation.
According to Sanjay Sachdeva, Head Instructor, participants from around seven states, including J&K UT, are expected to compete. Taekkyon, Korea’s traditional martial art and the predecessor of Taekwondo, emphasizes full-contact techniques with a focus on safety and discipline. It was introduced in India in 2023 by Kyongtae Jung, Vice President of the Korea Taekkyon Federation.
